Stretch and Booty: the nicknames given to 6′ 3″ Jamie Murray and his doubles partner Eric Butorac (can you figure out who’s who?) by Brad Gilbert, who coaches Jamie’s brother, Andy.
The duo looks to repeat the success they had earlier this year (winning back-to-back titles in San Jose and Memphis) on the European grass. They are entered in this week’s Artois Championships at Queen’s Club.

Props to adidas for experimenting with their uniforms. More players should have nicknames emblazoned on their shirts, don’t you think?

no shot that was booty you ran into…the guy doesnt have a condescending bone in his body…the guy is from outstate mn, has the best parents you’ll ever meet, and cant believe he actually is a pro tennis player…calm down spiffy…
MF says
Um Eric condescending? I don’t think so. I think the person who wrote that comment is jealous of the success he has had.
Andy says
Can’t see him that way either, went to high school with the guy, wouldn’t know he was there if you didn’t know him.
Mac says
Booty condescending and arrogant? Hard for me to imagine. Played college tennis with the guy and he impressed me as one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met. Saw him earlier this summer and he seemed to have an “aw shucks” attitude when everyone was complimenting him on his recent success.
Erwin says
Hah. What was he trying to buy?
Spiffy says
I helped Eric Butorac out in a store once and he was the most condescending, demanding, arrogant, jerk I’ve ever met. I had no idea who he was & he was extremely offended by that, even going so far as to say “I’m a professional tennis player!”

Yeah, I saw them in San Jose where brother Andy also won! (Cute, eh?) But yeah I hear they’re having a web site too. Great nicknames!
