We’ve seen plenty of sweater vests lately: at Wimbledon, Svetlana Kuznetsova wore one from Fila in her salute to the 70’s. And adidas dressed doubles team Stretch and Booty in them, too.
This week Nikolay Davydenko — god bless his heart — tried one on at the Allianz Suisse Open in Gstaad, Switzerland (not to be confused with Bastad, Sweden). Unfortunately, his Airness kit, though it kept him warm, didn’t look so hot under the argyle sweater.
And so Gael Monfils sent him back to the fashion drawing boards with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win over the Russian in the first round.
p.s. Nike is also putting out two version for their fall line (pictured above).
