Serena Williams captured the inaugural BNP Paribas Billie Jean King Cup on Monday night at the Madison Square Garden, beating her sister Venus in the final 6-4, 6-3.
While it may have been winter outside in the middle of Manhattan, spring was in full bloom inside the arena. Even President Bill Clinton and Billie Jean joined in the color brigade, sporting patterned purple and soft mint, respectively, on a snowy night.
The color wheel keeps spinning after the cut…
Venus kept it simple with her usual EleVen dress, but made it loud in canary yellow. Jelena’s dress — in the same cut as the one from Fed Cup — was a coral pink in person, but this picture makes it look flat out orange. She matched the ball kids (see below).
Ana stuck with her adilibria dress from adidas. The site says it’s violet, but it looked more plum under Garden lights.
Serena didn’t stray far from tourney apparel, either. She sported her exact AO outfit, right down to the Nike Swoosh headband and heart-shaped necklace.

What, no shot of Ana I’s lovely-colored plum number? I adore the color on her, even if the asymmetrical bust on the thing makes the left side of her chest sometimes look twice as big as the right.
