Two snaps for Carla Suarez Navarro, who upset sixth seed Venus Williams in a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 second round match at the Australian Open
The baby-faced Spaniard took an early lead in the second set, and this put Venus on the defensive — a position the American was uncomfortable in.
“I think [Carla] played some really good tennis,” Venus said. “She was super consistent and aggressive and just went for her shots. I think she just played really well. I think she took her opportunities and really showed a lot of character.”
We’re sad to see Venus and her gorgeous yellow EleVen dress bow out so soon, but we’re glad she tried the silhouette and keyhole design in yet another color (white for Wimbledon; white/lime and black for the U.S. Open). If it ain’t broke…
More: See how she accessorized around this dress (visors! headbands! earrings! hotpants!) all after the cut…
Deep blue beaded drop earrings.
Her hair, held in a bun by a rubber band.
For round 1, pink hot pants.
For round 2, black.
