As with any Grand Slam, plenty of silver (both as cups and platters) were doled out to runner-ups and winners of the various events at the Australian Open.
The team of Jonathan Ehrlich and Andy Ram capped a historic weekend for Israeli sports by becoming the first Israeli team to win a Grand Slam title. Their opponents in the 7-5, 7-6 (4) win were the defending Wimbledon champs, Michael Llodra and Nono Clement. Suffice to say Ram and Ehrlich’s celebration is exactly how the Frenchmen would’ve done it.

Ukranian sisters Kateryna and Alona Bondarenko beat Victoria Azarenka and Shahar Peer 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 for their first Grand Slam title. Of the K-Swiss clad duo, Kateryna is the brunette, Alona is the blonde. They get to split a A$446,020 pot.
Serbian Nenad Zimonjic added to his country’s strong showing at this year’s Australian Open (Janko took Roger to five sets, Ana made it to the women’s finals, and Nole won the men’s singles trophy) by teaming with Tiantian Sun to beat Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi 7-6 (4), 6-4.
Top seed David Wagner, above, lost to second seed Peter Norfolk 2-6, 3-6 in the finals of the Quad Wheelchair finals.
