Tennis fans at St Giles Hotels’ Taste of Tennis Master Class special event last week received a treat as they mingled with French Open Champion Garbine Muguruza in the Penthouse at the Tuscany, a St Giles Signature Hotel. The Roland-Garros champion amazed guests as she threw on her apron and cooked alongside St Giles’ Chef Arturo Vivanco to create Monte Cristo sandwiches, in honor of her recent French Open win.
In addition to Garbine and Chef’s culinary creation, invitation-only guests enjoyed lump crab cakes and dumplings from Beer & Buns, located in the Tuscany’s sister property, The Court. The recently renovated Penthouse set the scene for an evening of food and fun, with spectacular views of both the Empire State and Chrysler buildings.
Taste of Tennis Master Class preceeds US Open
The Taste of Tennis Master Class preceded the kick-off US Open event, the Taste of Tennis, where the world’s greatest tennis players and NYC’s top chefs showcased their culinary skills. Beer & Buns own Chef Wisit Panpinyo prepared Spiced Chipotle Chicken Burgers with fresh guacamole, crispy onions, mixed greens and chipotle aioli at the August 25th event, which precedes the US Open beginning today and ending on September 11th.
