WANT WANT WANT: a scarf, a hoodie, and a journal

Rags are riches: The folks at Recession Rags are focusing just on their button scarves for now, moving their non-scarf items — tailored pants, shorts, etc. — to a different brand that’ll appear soon. In the meantime, they’ve churned out some solid neckwear for Fall 2010 (now priced at $29 a pop, down from $50). And in case you need to be enticed, RR’s running a 4-for-$100 special, an offer we’re taking them up on. Check out the goods here.

Not that it’s stopped us before: We ran across these clothes from Airwalk during our US Open trip to NYC and have been jonesing for them ever since. (Native American print’s been done and done, but the fabric’s super-comfy and the price points aren’t bad.) Of course, we didn’t know at the time that these were women’s offerings — an important detail which we’re willing to overlook. Buy: Airwalk Southwest Hoodie, $40; Streak V-Neck, $26; airwalk.com.

(ot) what’s been on our mind

Judging by the pics we saw via Refinery29 of photographer Ryan McGinley‘s latest exhibit, we’re all about his refreshing move away from landscapes and towards raw portraits. Visit: “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere”, Team Gallery, New York City; through April 17, 2010.

And over at Recession Rags, they’re mining the nooks and crannies of clothing manufacturers all over the city for scrabs of fabrics then turned into shorts, pants, scarves, and suspenders. Look at the fun patterns they’re using for neckwear. Browse: Wrap your head around the goods here. (via Thrillist)
