a royal visit to wimbledon

Here hunny, you sit here. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, better known to us as Kate and Will, made their first visit to Wimbledon today as a married couple. The two took in Andy Murray‘s rather straight-forward match against Richard Gasquet, the Scotsman winning 7-6 (3) 6-3 6-2. Kate looked stunning in off white (don’t you love that shoulder pattern, too?) and Will looked regal in a classic navy suit with a patterned red tie. Billie Jean King joined them in the royal box, as well.

sightings in the stands: prince william

Most folks know that we’re with Team Ginger, but we have to give a little love to Prince William for doing his part to promote the sport.

The British royal made an appearance at Melbourne Park yesterday, watching second-round matches by Roger Federer (d. Victor Hanescu) and Casey Dellacqua (d. Karolina Sprem).

Here’s hoping that someone from the Obama camp will make it out to Flushing Meadows this fall. (It probably won’t be the President Obama, though. We can’t have him supporting tennis… it’ll be interpreted as “un-American”!)
