John McEnroe might not act like one any more, but he still knows how to dress like a teenager. The tennis legend got front-page billing on NYTimes.com with a story about his new New York-based academy. (Screengrab via NYTimes.com)
Action! No Djoking Around. Serbian star Novak Djokovic has struggled in the last couple of years with his on-court stamina (will this be the issue that haunts his career?). He hasn’t struggled, meanwhile, with the ability to garner big-time acting roles in his home country. Djoko is starring in a documentary about the 1923 Serbian World Cup team, and fellow tennis buff Nenad Zimonjic is putting his footwork on display, too.
I’m no Justine. There were plenty of moments in Rome last weeks (Rome-ments?!). But one of our faves was Serena making sure that Jelena Jankovic know that she wasn’t pulling a Justine on the Serb. After the match, Serena assured Jankovic that she didn’t intentionally try to distract her opponent by putting her hand up while Janky was serving in the third-set tie-break, an exchange Serena knows plenty about.
Summer kicks. Shout out to Joe Durica over at Stick It Wear?! for posting a link to these Tretorn shoes that we’re digging for our summer wardrobe. What better way to ring in the coming of sun and sand than a pair of slip-on (yes, slip on shoes!) Skymra Poplins that’ll work well with bright tones and short shorts. OK, Joe might not be a big fan of short shorts, but we are! Buy them for $65 at Tretorn.com. They come in a dark and light version (read: “black” or “white”), but we’re gunna stick with the baby blue for now. It just works!

Briefly. NPR.org is making us hungry with this photo gallery of delicious-looking food. Supposedly the world’s largest dodgeball game is happening today in New York City. The current record is held by the University of Alberta, which has over 1,200 participants in a dodgeball game in February of this year. Serena survived the longest match of her career this week in Madrid. (WTA Longest Match history book is here.) Thanks to Jon Wertheim for Tweeting about this Rafael Nadal interview (with English subtitles!). Our friends from SIW?! were featured on Tennis Warehouse‘s vlog. Though we were a little disappointed said vlog wasn’t modeling some of our new favorite undies, Eroddicks! British star Anne Keothavong lunches with Miss UK, Katharine Brown. Besties!
