Yep, more shoes…
Let’s not forget: The Countrywide Classic honored legend (and three-time winner) Stan Smith with an award after Saturday’s semi between James Blake and Hyung-Taik Lee. Too bad no one stayed around for the ceremony. The stands were practically empty, ESPN2 had packed up their cameras, and commentators Patrick McEnroe and Cliff Drysdale were nowhere to be seen. It would have been smarter to hand him the award before the start of the Blake match. (Or, to have the announcer say, “we’re handing an award to Stan Smith” instead of a cryptic and sales-y “stick around for a very special ceremony”.) Is this any way to treat a legend with an adidas
shoe named after him?Flashback — the Alife Pump: Cool Hunting and Hypebeast were all over the release of the special Reebok/Alife collaboration called The Ball Out that tennis-ized one of their classic styles (all it takes is green felt). The limited edition of 48 pairs sold in February 2006.
Been there, done that: Which isn’t to be confused with Airwalk‘s attempt at the same style back in 1995.
Addicted to grass: Forget Paul Smith for a sec and turn your attention to Ted Baker, who came out with a Wimbledon-inspired shoe, the Grip Basket, complete with tennis balls detail (sole) and grass print (!) on the insole. (via Down the Line!)

Hello, just stopped by doing some research for my Airwalk website. Can’t believe the amount of information out there. Not what I was looking for, but good site. Have a good day.
