If I haven’t said it yet, then I’ll say it now: I want Eugene Kan’s babies. The Hypebeast blogger has the best insider news on any haps at the intersection of tennis and street culture. His some of his latest posts:
1) Hong Kong toymaker Michael Lau collaborates with Nike on creating Nike Pro athlete figures. That’s the Roger Federer unpainted prototype above. The other two shown by Hypebeast are Ronaldinho and Kobe Bryant.
I’m a little shocked that they picked Federer over Rafael Nadal, since Rafa is whose mug appears on the Nike Pro website. (But of course, Roger has a higher Q rating…)
FYI: The Nike Pro line consists of “athletic compression wear made of Dri-Fit materials as well as strategic vents to encourage a cooler body temperature.”
2) Here are a few photos of the new colorways Lacoste plans to release for their Missouri ’85 sneaker. This 80’s tennis-inspired shoe was the focus of last year’s collaboration between the fashion house and Sneaker Freaker.
3) Not tennis-related, but this bag is cute!
