Robert Kendrick qualified for the 2010 US Open but had the bad luck of drawing Gael Monfils in the first round. Kendrick was up 2-1 and 40-0 in the fifth but couldn’t hold on in the end.
The black/blue print on the American’s white Athletic DNA crew was a welcome deviation from the trend of solid colors and subtle detailing that dominated the players’ clothing at Flushing Meadows.
