LOS ANGELES – The Farmers Classic, presented by Mercedes-Benz, is proud to present “An Evening with Betty White” on July 22 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The event will be hosted by actress Wendie Malick and will allow fans to hear the comedy of White along with her thoughts on her eight-decade career.
This unique opportunity to spend an evening with a true star and America’s sweetheart will happen just days before the 2011 Farmers Classic, presented by Mercedes-Benz, takes place July 25-31 at the LA Tennis Center on UCLA’s campus featuring ATP World Tour stars Juan Martin del Potro, Mardy Fish, Fernando Gonzalez, Marcos Baghdatis, James Blake and Lleyton Hewitt, among others.
“An Evening with Betty White” will be an extraordinary one-night only event that will feature an entertaining and insightful discussion and personal question-and-answer period along with a memorable video retrospective of her career–from her role as Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore show, Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls to her hysterical appearance as host of Saturday Night Live and her current starring role on the hit show “Hot in Cleveland” as Elka Ostrovsky.
Malick co-stars with White on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” playing the role of Victoria Chase. Previous roles include Nina Van Horn on “Just Shoot Me!” and as Judith Tupper Stone on “Dream On.” Malick has appeared in many other TV series while also starring in many movies for television, feature films and off Broadway productions.
A limited VIP ticket is also available that includes a pre-event reception as well as the best seats in historic Royce Hall. All tickets for “An Evening with Betty White” are on sale now through Ticketmaster or by calling 310-825-2101.
“We’re very happy to once again augment our historic tennis tournament with great entertainment for our fans,” said tournament director Bob Kramer. “Betty White is a comedy legend, and to see her in an intimate setting like Royce Hall is an incredible opportunity. It will certainly be a lighthearted way to kick off our 2011 tournament.”
