Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi awarded Serena Williams with a customized PSG jersey after she locked down the No. 1 ranking while playing the Qatar Total Open in Doha last week.

Cavalier Tennis: The second-seeded USC Trojans were no match for top team Virginia at this past weekend’s 2013 ITA National Men’s Team Indoor Championship, hosted in Seattle by the University of Washington. Virginia won the final 4-2, taking the doubles point and the top three singles points. USC gets top clothing marks, though, especially with this retro kit from the earlier rounds and the all-black Nike outfit (seen above on Emilio Gomez), which reminds us of the Darth Federer outfit, also by Nike, worn by Roger Federer at the 2007 U.S. Open.
Also noted is the change of Pepperdine‘s kits from Quiksilver to adidas (Seen here on Finn Tearney.

Talkin Dirty: DDFTC ambassador Ana Ivanovic starred in a video highlighting the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, a sponsor for the tennis event, being held this week in Dubai. Those red sofas in that photo above, she points out, are designed by Zaha Hadid. (Nothing gets us going like a tennis star run-in with a starchitect!) Ana is also asked by the hotel to create a piece of tennis-themed art that will be displayed in the property’s gallery. It was reminiscent of the canvases painted by the ATPers who qualified for the Barclay’s ATP World Tour Finals in 2010. (Watch: Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Feature – Ana Ivanovic)
Draw: Ivanovic beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-3, 7-6(5) in the first round of the tournament and will next face sixth seed Petra Kvitova. They share that bottom half of the singles draw with Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska. The top half of the draw is up for grabs after top seed Victoria Azarenka withdrew from the event because of a foot injury.

NCAA Tennis: The UCLA Men’s Tennis team shows off their new adidas tennis kits as they play in the 2013 ITA National Men’s Team Indoor Championships, being hosted by the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash.
The Bruins, seeded third at the event, faced off against 14th seed Tennessee, with UCLA winning 4-1. You can follow all the matches (including a live stream) at the UW ITA National Men’s Team Indoor results page. UCLA’s No. 1 player, Dennis Novikov, lost his singles match to Tennessee’s Mikelis Libietis.
