more limited edition: serena helps launch laptops and clothing lines in india

While in Bangalore, Serena Williams did her part as a spokesperson for HP to launch a line of limited edition notebooks with three designs. The “Verve” imprint will be on the dv2600 Pavilion, “Thrive” will be on the dv6800 Pavilion, and the “Asian Odyssey” (pictured above) will be the imprint on the dv2800. “Asian Odyssey” was the winner of the ‘Take Action. Make Art’ competition hosted by MTV and HP. It also reminds me a little of Bud Collinslaptop.

And based on the three imprints, Indian fashion duo Shantanu & Nikhil have created an exclusive collection for Serena to be unveiled in the fall/winter 2008 Willis India Lifestyle Fashion Week (March 12-16).

I wonder if the Indian community came down on her for her attire. It seems they would, what with the treatment Mirza’s received.

india is a huge country with

The outfit she is wearing looks indian or indian influenced. They are probably flattered she is wearing a local designer’s clothes. I think Serena looks fantastic….

Seems you are not familiar with “indian” traditional attire – quite a lot of it is quite revealing – simply depends on the part of the country and the ethnic and/or religious group. Look up lehenga choli and other items.

Seems you are confusing the beliefs and wishes of a faction of a religious minority with all indians.

When that mennonite cyclist (floyd ?) first started competing there was some issue in his community with him wearing shorts and at first he wore sweatpants. Does that mean someone should ask if “americans” are going to come down on him for wearing tight biker shorts.
