At first glance, I couldn’t figure out what these images were. Turns out they’re cross-sections of tennis strings photographed by Jens Barthelmes.
(If there are any jewelers out there looking for inspiration, please consider. I will be first in line to buy these as pendants or rings…)
Barthelmes runs Stringforum.net, a site which provides a resource for players, coaches, and stringers. He founded the site ten years ago and maintains it in his spare time. It has a discussion board, reviews of strings and stringing machines, and a fun photo gallery from which I assembled the collage above.
