want: lacoste keychain

The debut of the Lacoste jewelry line, which we’d been eagerly awaiting since the announcement last July, hit the stores for Spring/Summer 2011. Note: the jewelry comes packaged in a pouch made from the same pique material as the the company’s signature L.12.12 polo.

And because I haven’t learned my lesson from owning that monogramouflage keychain — all but one of the dog tags have fallen off — I’m going back for seconds with this Lacoste charmer. (Our other choice? The “1212″ cuff.)

Buy: Lacoste Club Charm, $53.99, lacoste.com. All the other goods are here.

Geek out: If you’re interested, the descriptions of the themes for their jewelry collection is after the cut…

wimbledon on the water 2011: a housing works fundraiser

So much going on out in NYC between Wimbledon starting next week and folks drumming up interest for the U.S. Open. If there ever was an argument for me to move out east, it’s how much tennis-mania hits the city in the summer!

You’re already gawking at LES tennis fashion this Saturday, and stopping by the HSBC event on Monday (of course!). One more thing to add to your list: our favorite non-profit, Housing Works (which I’m still waiting for L.A.’s Out of the Closet to mimic), is hosting a tennis tournament this Tuesday at the Roosevelt Island Racquet Club. $50 to play, $20 to watch.

she shouldn't have smiled

Forget about Roger Federer‘s records possibly being broken by Nole or Rafa — we’re in awe of Bethanie Mattek-Sands finally snapping Jelena Jankovic‘s record for worst gimmicky outfit worn to a party. It only took three years to oust her shopping buddy. Congrats, BMS!

A scowl on Bethanie might have helped us all stomach this, uhm, dress, designed by the UK-based Alex Noble (who frequently works with Lady Gaga). But all the giddiness and excitement was too much to contain; she couldn’t help being the balls of the ball.

Browse: Check out Noble’s blog to see some his other work (including the main outfit worn by Gaga in the “Judas” music video).

I know, I know. I really should know better. But everything’s better with a little salt and pepper.
