sunday survey: who’s your wimby champ?

Wimbledon is less than 24 hours away, and it’s hard to pick who is going to walk away with the title in each respective draw. Federer has been less than himself lately, and it’s impossible to tell which Nadal will show up on the grounds of the All England Club.

For the women, it could be the Williams show once again. But who is going to win Best Actress on tennis’ biggest and most dramatic stage? And who’ll slump away playing second fiddle?!

Let us know your picks for Wimbledon champions in the comments section.

Fed for the men I think, though this year almost anything is possible, wouldn’t surprise me to see a one-time-wimbly-winner like richard kraijcek years ago…

women: maria finally finds her 2004 wimbledon form and knocks out serena. venus will go through to the final via a belgian that is not justine henin ;-)
venus wins against maria in the final, my pick ;-)

As Brad Gilbert said earlier, this could be a wild Wimbledon with lots of upsets, or it could be a very predictable one. The last time the Queen showed up for it a Brit won. I don’t if Murray really cares her Majesty will be watching him but you have to think he has a chance vs. Nadal in the semis. Fed will probably make it all the way but don’t be surprised if Hewitt meets him in the semis.

For the ladies probably meet another Williams final. Stosur could stop that but only if her confidence holds up. Watch out for Clijsters too.

    Federer and Serena again.
And why this whole embrace of Hewitt?? Dude just won one title and yes it was over Federer but we haven’t been anointing everyone who’s been beating Federer, have we? That would have meant Montanes winning the French!

i’m gonna disagree with azarenka … she looked pretty busted up at the end of her match with makarova this weekend. vicky was hobbling around. i wouldn’t be surprised if she goes out to Lucic in R1.
