another gearmaker joins the clothing fray

Chicago-based gearmaker Wilson plans to join the apparel market in 2009 with an updated collection for men and women. All pieces will have the latest innovations in UV protection (UPF 30+) plus moisture, stain, and odor management.

The silhouettes themselves look fairly flattering (especially that polo above) but the patterns of color and fabric offer nothing uniquely “Wilson”. Perhaps they’ll stay logo-less a la American Apparel? I’d love to see a company go that route…

  1. Is this news? I have like a dozen Wilson shirts. What are you talking about?

    See here:

  2. And they make good socks too.

    I get 12 pairs ( 2 6packs) for 10 dollars at my local Modells.
