kudos to james blake

Kudos to James Blake for finally deciding to cover up his arms, trading his usual Nike Global Power Sleeveless Top for the much classier and cleaner Dri-FIT London Polo shirt. (That terry cloth headband is another story.)

Good choice, since his musculos would forever be in the shadow of Rafa‘s anyway. He should take advantage of his model looks and rock his own Nike style.

TSF wished to see James play a few more rounds at Wimbledon, but today he lost in his second match, to Rainer Schuettler of Germany 3-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, 4-6, 4-6.

Buy: Nike London Polo in white, Comet Red, and Dark Obsidian, $65; Swoosh headband in blue, $4.50.

Yeah, I agree – the polo is becoming to his classic good looks.

The terry cloth headband is bewildering from a fashion perspective – but from a sweat perspective and w/ no head of hair – it must be pretty necessary – since he has a tan mark from it! Saw it after the match! It kinda echoes the tan marks on Federer and Nadal’s foreheads.

And speaking of Nadal – are his pants shorter then usual? They also seem a little more tailored too. The shorts look really great on Nadal.

    Thanks for the blog!

  2. The polo looks great on Blake. I dig the navy (sorry, “Dark Obsidian”) version too. Yes, praise the higher power that he’s shirked the sleeveless for this Wimbledon. But then he’s gone. To Schuettler, age 32? Ugh. Playing on grass can’t be *that* bad, American boys. Suck it up.

  3. p.s. The tan lines from the sweatband are hilarious, it’s true. But yes, that does seem necessary.
